Philly Throttle

Post by StarKiller »

Philly Throttle is a reality show about a motorcycle shop. I saw it mentioned on the Brantly forum. One of the guys had been in the shop and identified the Brantly there as N2294U sn 467.
I've only watched the first of the three episodes that aired, so far. The Brantly B-2B was shown twice a few minutes before the end of the episode. I got 3 screencaps of each time.
I hope I'm doing this right.

Philly Throttle s1.1 Discovery Channel
(From the Discovery Channel website:)
"Lights Out: July 5, 2013
The guys at Liberty Vintage Motorcycles are feeling the heat. Faced with a cut-off notice from the electric company, the team races to complete 1967 Norton Atlas and a 1931 Matchless Model X. If they fail, it's game over at Liberty Vintage."

In the episode, there is another aircraft, an ultralight, also hanging, to the right of the Brantly. I couldn't seem to get a clear shot straight at the ultralight, I think they panned across it too fast. Maybe someone can identify it?

I sat through the whole thing to get the screencaps but I don't know how to write a synopsis. A guy comes in and says he has an old motorcycle he wants restored to surprise his dad. That was a 1931 Matchless Model X.
Cramer goes to the guy's storage with him to look at it and while there, spots the 1967 Norton Atlas, among a lot of other old motorcycles, and talks the guy into selling. So basically he has a budget of $10,000 to restore the Matchless, but if he wants to make any real money he has to also restore and sell the Norton.
So the main part of the show revolves around chasing down parts and getting the motorcycles restored. The guy brings his dad in to see the Matchless and that's when we see the two aircraft hanging from the ceiling. The end part is Cramer selling the Norton to a guy he called who he thought would be interested.

Philly Throttle also has it on their Facebook page cover photo, on the upper right.

It is shown sitting on the floor, there.

There is a closer photo with a magazine article about the shop
