Amiot 144

The Amiot 144 is a prototype with a retractable gear as main difference with the type 143. But the wing is brand new too (reduced wing area) and the manufacturer never solved some aileron malfunction so State Experimental Center had rejected the aircraft.

Letov Š-8 was a racing aircraft, built for participation in the race for the President of the Republic. It took part in the three yearly races of the President's Prize, but never won. In the first race in 1923, the machine crashed due to overheated engine failure; in 1924 and 1925 it finished in second place. Note the different layout.
