The AVIA (Azionaria Vercellese Industrie Aeronautiche) FL.3 was an Italian two-seat side-by-side cabin monoplane designed by a team led by Francis Lombardi. The maiden flight occured on November 1938. Civil airframes has an enclosed cockpit but military ones has just a windshield. Manufacturing started soon but was stopped when Italia surrending. It resumed after VE Day and was sold as Lombardi FL.3 until 1953. This year, Meteor SpA acquired the rights for the FL.3 and with some re-design produced it as the Meteor FL.53. A three-seat version known as FL.54 and the four-seat version (FL.55) were built in a handfull number regarding the hundreds FL.3.
