Stearman-Hammond Y-1 seen in NASA X: Urban Air Mobility.

The Stearman-Hammond Y-1 was a low-wing monoplane twin-boom pusher monoplane without rudder as such, the tailplane fins being adjustable but fixed in flight. Turning was by differential aileron and elevator alone.
This design was the project drawn by Lloyd Stearman and Dean Hammond submitted to a 1934 competition for a safe and practical $700 aircraft. Being the winner, the two associates formed the Stearman-Hammond Aircraft Corporation in 1936 but the price being four times the expected one, only a handle left the production line, mainly for several armed forces praticising flying test.

Only twenty or so Stearman-Hammond Y-1 were built and only two survive in museum.

This page lists all films that feature the Stearman-Hammond Y-1 or its test and military variant.
