Registration N6538C, c/n 43838.
Douglas DC-6
Short fuselage DC-6, delivered to UA in the late 40’s.
Boeing 377-10-26 Stratocruiser
In its earlier PAA’s livery, silver finish, white letters over blue stripe and big US flag on the tail fin.
Grumman JRF-5 Goose
Founded as Ellis Air Transport in 1936, then Ellis Air Lines in 1945 till 1962 when the company merged with Alaska Coastal Airlines into Alaska Coastal-Ellis Airlines. They used several ex US Navy and US Coast Guard Grumman Goose. Though black&white shots are rather well matching for “film noir” in an esthetical way, it’s a pity to not see the beautiful colour these Gooses worn. See discussion page.
Cessan 170B
In 1954, it can be a Cessna 170 or a Cessna 180 Skywagon. Impossible to be sure without a view of the tail fin.
