A mysterious greenish light emanating from the mountains of a remote Japanese village forces local villagers opposed to a construction project to cease their feud with the workers as everyone attempts to discover the source of the mysterious light. It turns out to be a giant, blood-drinking bird monster that vomits cutting beams from its mouse. The creature, Gyaos, terrorizes Japan and is opposed by the fire-breathing turtle Gamera.

Boeing-Vertol 234

This helicopter is sent up to do a flyover of the mountains to determine the mysterious light's source. Gyaos responds to the intrusion by slicing the helicopter in half with his laser. JA9521 is a false registration as it is associated to a Bell 212.
