Five years after Dominic Toretto flees the USA, he and a new gang now hijackes fuel tanker trucks in the Dominican Republic. When he realizes the police getting closer, he flees to Panama City, alone. Some time later, his sister Mia Toretto tells him, that his former girlfriend Leticia Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) was murdered. Dom decides to return to the USA to find her murder.
Former L.A.P.D.-officer and now FBI-agent Brian O'Conner investigates on some drug dealers in Los Angeles. When he tries to consult a drug dealer, he and Dom meets for the first time since Dom had fled. Both men take part in a road race, which is arranged by Ramon Campos, right hand man of powerful drug dealer Arturo Braga. Later, while smuggling drugs from Mexico into the USA, Dom is able to find the murder of Leticia, which is Fenix Calderon. Eventually, he is able to kill Fenix.
