French title : Aventure dans le Grand Nord

Starring:
John Wayne (Captain Dooley)
Lloyd Nolan (Captain Stutz)
Walter Abel (Colonel Fuller)
James Arness (Mac McMullen, pilot)

Lost in a snow storm, wings full of ice and with fuel tanks nearly empty, Captain Dooley made an emergency landing somewhere in the Canadian North outback. If all the crewmen are safe and healthy, how do they survive in such winter condition, far away any human activity, without radio link and weak survival kit.

Consolidated B-24 Liberator

Many crew are near a wall map of the Quebec province, Canada (the head of the standup pilot is near the Charlton Island). Top left, a picture of a Consolidated B-24 Liberator or its transport variant, the C-87.
The script was based on a true story about a C-87 flight lost on 3 February 1943 and the rescue DC-3 which made a safe landing but failed to takeoff from the thick snow.

Various Model Kit

No date given but such ferry flight through North territories mixing military and civil aircrew was set during World War Two. As some crew will cross the Atlantic toward the European theater, last air station has some instructional model hung from the ceiling. Among them (top center), a floatplane with two large floats on struts : Heinkel He 115 or Cant Z.506 or Fiat RS.14 ?
