Apologies for the 2nd and 3rd picturesof the tri-engined jet being lower quality, they come from a Youtube clip. If anyone ever has any better quality captures, by all means replace them. The two DVD captures I just happened to have from when I did the film for IMCDB about 4 years ago (from a rented DVD). - G-MANN

The aircraft is actually a Trident 2E - what you see at the base of the tail is the exhaust for the auxiliary power unit (APU). If you look closely, you can see there are 2 overwing exits, which was unique to the 2E.

The scene was filmed on the BA Engineering Base at Heathrow Airport.

At the time of filming, there were 2 retired Tridents on the base - a 3B (G-AWZK) and the 2E in the picture (G-AVFG). In 1990 FG was moved to "Trident Turn" at the departure end of Rwy 27R, where she stayed until around 1999, when she was bought by a film company who used her in an ITV drama. After that, she was moved to Manchester airport, painted green and "registered" G-SMOKE for use by the Manchester Airport Fire Service.

G-AWZK, painted in BEA colours, joined her at MAN in 2003 as part of the Aviation Viewing Park collection.
