Erebus ... Volcano ...

The Erebus Airline doesn't exist but there was flight from New Zealand to spot the Mount Erebus volcano which ended in a fatal crash : Air New Zealand Flight 901.
The screenplay is more related to a flight through a cloud of volcanic ash like British Airways Flight 9 (24 June 1982) or KLM Flight 867 (15 December 1989).
Did too the writter think of Aloha Airlines Flight 243 ? There are so many twist in this story ... we can't name all of them ... and all are far away from the screenplay. And we do not consider ideas stollen from other movies (ex. : Airport 1975)!
