Dear Friends:

As many of you have noticed, The Internet Movie Plan Database (impdb.org) has recently had a hard time keeping up with the growing demands of our users. In 2009 when a couple of us got together to begin putting the website together, space was never an issue. In fact, it has steadily grown with virtually no problems throughout the years.

In about the middle of 2016 we began to run into server space issues. We have since made upgrades (moving to a VPS, buying more space, etc), but the site continues to outgrow the upgrades. The meager ad revenue generated by the site isn't sufficient to cover the annual cost of running the server. We who manage the site have never made money from it, it has only ever earned enough money to cover actual server costs.

In an effort to continue serving the needs of aviation enthusiasts around the world, we are asking for donations to keep this site up and running consistently like it did when it was a smaller, newer site. If you've enjoyed this website and would like to see it continue being the site you go to for your aviation screenshot needs, please consider donating.

Oh yeah, new users and edits are now active (hopefully for good) while we're testing new and improved spam/bot protections :)
Thank you,
IMPDb Staff

Video Games

Video Games pages are looking great. As you may have noticed, I've created the framework behind it:

  • All pages are now categorised in Video Games List, done by using the modified {{VGFootnote}}.
  • Pages should include the {{Video Game}} note after the synopsis.
  • Video Games links are now on the front page and sidebar.

Looking forward to lots more contributions and of course, if you come across any in films, the contributions are always appreciated!

Thanks

There are lot of games to come. Also if i found some movies i will upload them.

RE:Spacecraft

Generally don't include space stations - they're more infrastructure than vehicles. Rightly so on the AH-64, so feel free to change it - it should still link to the Boeing category though, as categories represent most recent manufacturer. Bthebest - IMPDb Administrator 15:30, 16 March 2013 (MDT)

Re: Fictional

There are some differing opinions on this. Alien spacecraft and sci-fi I would say definitely not. Other fictional aircraft - how realistic are they? Do they follow conventional flight principles? Put soe pics on the forum if you want an opinion before creating the page on here. Bthebest - IMPDb Administrator 04:57, 24 March 2013 (MDT)

Re: Another Question

No worries, ask as needed. Soyuz spacecraft -Yes; ICBM, missiles or other incendiary rockets - No. Basically, aircraft and spacecraft are ok, but not weapons. Bthebest - IMPDb Administrator 06:44, 31 March 2013 (MDT)

Image Problems

Hey Mark0. Just so you are aware, if you resize your pictures to 500px, they should show up on the page normally. If you'd like to change them yourself, that's fine. You can also upload them all as is and I or one of the other users can resize them for you. Thanks! Corkeyandpals 11:11, 11 December 2013 (MST)

Mark0, it's a C-17 but what a suspens ! For which page ? LVCDC 11:44, 11 December 2013 (MST)
sorry ! the link exists to 007: Blood Stone; so I change the category. LVCDC 11:47, 11 December 2013 (MST)

Thanks it works now Mark0 19:28, 15 Decembre 2013

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

You loaded a picture but put twice the code of this image. Do you have really two screenshots (so, please upload the second one) or is it just a mistake, a twin ? [I have removed one of the twin lines but it's easy to click on undone before changing the name of the file picture if you must add a new screenshot). Regards. LVCDC 19:30, 23 December 2013 (MST)

it's mistake. I didn't notice it. Thanks for removing. Mark0 17:45, 24 December 2013

Image Problems Fixed (Mostly)

Hey Mark0, the image problem on the site seems to be fixed for the most part, so you can start uploading your pictures at full size again. If there are any problems with them, we should be able fix them without too much trouble.

Thanks, Corkeyandpals 09:20, 21 October 2014 (MDT)

OK. Mark0 17:27, 21 October 2014

Great work!

You're killing it Mark0, I'm having trouble keeping up with you today :)
Thanks for all of your help.

Thumbnails

Hey Mark0. We're still having problems with thumbnails not loading. I noticed you've been updating pages to show thumbnails at 500px. I just made some changes to the installation. Can you let me know if anything looks different on your end either when viewing pages or thumbnails, or when creating a page, uploading images, etc?

Thanks. Rush - IMPDb Co-Founder

For pages already added it look same. I will add few pages later and I will inform you if something is different or not. Mark0 (talk) 01:38, 28 June 2017 (MDT)
I added three new pages, and everything looks good, same as before Mark0 (talk) 04:58, 28 June 2017 (MDT)

Thank you. This is exactly the problem I've been fighting. I'll keep working on it.
I have changed the default thumbnail size and limited the number of thumbnails the database can generate when a page is called. You may not need to include the 500px parameter to get a thumbnail to work now, but it will likely take more testing.

I just tried to remove px size from cover art, but I left 500px on aircraft pictures and now pictures started appearing on thumbnails. I don't know if this will fix the issue or it will come back Mark0 (talk) 08:08, 28 June 2017 (MDT)
