October 1962 : USSR tries to base launching pads for medium range balistic missiles in Cuba. During thirteen days, USA and USSR held a fist game which held the breath of the world. Inside view from the White House on these days which were ones of the nearest the nuclear blast.

Douglas A-4 Skyhawk

Piasecki HUP-2 Retriever

Just under the horizon line.

Boeing B-52 Stratofortress

A scene displays a taxiing B-52 with four underwing Douglas AGM-48A Skybolt air-launched ballistic missiles. In fact, these weapons were only on development at that time, not in operational use.

Vought F-8 Crusader & McDonnell F-3 Demon

The McDonnell F-3 Demon is on the right, behind the yellow dog.

Vought RF-8 Crusader

(missing screenshot)

McDonnell RF-101B Voodoo

Probably CGI planes.

Lockheed U-2F

The highest point of the crisis : the flight done by Major Rudolf Anderson on 27th October.

The Lockheed U-2 is intercepted by a SAM Lavochkin S-75 Dvina (NATO code name : SA-2 Guideline).

Unidentified Aircraft

Found on IMCDB.

Northrop F-5 Freedom Fighter

Perhaps the aircraft of the tribute flypast at the funeral of Major Anderson. (missing screenshot)

Missiles

R-12 Dvina (NATO designation SS-4)

Missile seems well reproducted but the lorries are american ones !

Martin LGM-25C Titan II ICBM

Despite the caption about an Atlas, the launch displays a Titan IGBM.
