1938. Interest of foreign spies in the developments German armaments factories is increasing. Special target plate is the Kettwig-works whose chief engineer Dr. Hellmers has invented a new type of alloy for the production of wires for baarrage balloons. Hellmers and his boss, the old Kettwig, trust no one more fully, not even junior manager Bernd Kettwig and Hellmers assistant Inge Neuhaus, who also know the secret of the wire.
