A look at the life of legendary American pilot Amelia Earhart, who disappeared while flying over the Pacific Ocean in 1937 in an attempt to make a flight around the world.

Note each wheel is mounted on the end of a hook at the end of the landing strut. Amelia's L10E Electra had the wheels mounted between forks at the end of the landing struts.
