Arrow Air was an American airline founded in 1947 by George E.Batchelor and began operating a Douglas DC-3 from Torrance Municipal Airport, California. In 1953, Batchelor stopped flight operations and dedicated himself to renting aircraft. As early as 1964, he moved to Miami and pushed the cargo market to South America. The money generated in this way flowed into the new Arrow Air, which was based at Miami International Airport in May 1981 and resumed passenger and cargo flight operations just under a year later. The Boeing 707 and Douglas DC-8 were used in a wide variety of series. The route network not only included the American mainland, but was expanded to Europe and Asia. From 1984 onwards, Mc Donnell Douglas DC-10 freighters were still available for this purpose. Profitability has never been fully acquired and the company had to place itself twice under Chapter 11 in the last 20 years of the century. After having merged with Fine Air, the company began a full service of freight service in 2004 as Arrow Cargo. Nevertheless, difficulties remained and Arrow Cargo ceased its flight operations on June 29, 2010.
