Breguet Br. 1050 Alizé seen in Le ciel sur la tête.

The Breguet Br. 1050 Alizé was designed as a carrier-based anti-submarine warfare aircraft. Manned by a crew of three (pilot, radar operator and navigator), this low-wing monoplane was powered by one Rolls-Royce Dart turboprop, allowing a five hours endurance. Fuselage could accomodate the retractable antenna of the CSF radar system and an internal weapons bay for homing torpedoes or depth charges. Bombs, depth charges, rockets or missiles could be carried on underwing pylons when the front part of the landing gear's nacelles accommodated sonobuoys. The prototype Alizé first flew on 6 October 1956 and production of the 89 airframes ran from 1957 to 1962, twelve of them being bought by India. This country decommisioned its Alizé in 1991 but French Aéronautique Navale kept them on duty until September 2000 after 28 of them were refitted to the Br.1050M standard during the 1980's.

This page lists all films that feature a variation of the Breguet Br. 1050 Alizé.
