Franco-British Aviation (most known as FBA) produced the FBA 17 in the beginning of the 1920's. Designed by Louis Schreck, this conventional flying boat biplane with unequal-span, unstaggered wings and side-by-side open cockpits was powered by a pusher engine. Most of the airframes built soldiered on with the Franch Navy but several dozens were exported to Brazil, Poland and eventually, Viking built under license in 1931 six airframes for the US Coast Guard under the name OO-1. The first flight occured in 1923 but last examples were still in service at the outbreak of World War Two.
A total of more 300 Franco-British Aviation FBA 17 were built.
