Germanair GmbH was the name given to the previous company Südwestflug GmbH , after several owner's changes and take over from the Transportflug GmbH in 1968. The company headquarter was moved from Baden-Baden to Frankfurt at this time. Germanair ordered new airplanes such as BAC 111-500 to complete a fleet of old Douglas DC-6. In autumn, 1970, Germania was bought by the Munich entrepreneur Josef Schörghuber who also possessed a minority participation in theBavaria airline since 1968. The enterprise ordered in spring, 1971 four Fokker F28 Fellowship , and the new Airbus A300 four years later. In 1977, the company merged with Bavaria Fluggesellschaft to form a new company named Bavaria Germanair.
