Potez 39 of 4th Escadrille, GO II/32, Armée de l'Air.

The Potez 39 family was a French two-seat single-engined parasol wing monoplane reconnaissance and observation aircraft.

  • the Potez 390 A2 was the main variant built for the Armée de l'Air (French Air Force); 100 airframes left the assembly line.
  • the Potez 391 was powered by another V-12 supercharged engine and built for the Peru (twelve airframes).
  • seven airframes were built as prototypes (five variants with different engines; another fitted as hydroplane; the type 37 with the empennage mounted on a boom behind the fuselage).

First flight in 1930 but on frontline units only in 1934. In October of 1939, all the surviving airframes were used only on training units and the type was withdrawn from service soon the after the armistice of June 1940.
