The company was set up in 1911 as Aéroplanes Deperdussin, becoming the Société de Production des Aéroplanes Deperdussin in 1912. Following a bankrupcy in 1913, it takes its final name until 1920. That year, Blériot became the main shareholder leading to the Blériot-SPAD company.
