The Sikorsky S-38 first flew on 25 May 1928. It was a twin-engined 8-seat amphibious aircraft. 101 of them were built for Pan Am, some famous people/owners (like Howard Hughes, Lindbergh or the safari filmmakers Martin and Osa Johnson) and an handfull were used by US Army and US Navy.
