IMPDB is too big (and the host stopped the service as the base grows too fast) but we must use a PNG instead a JPG ... this PNG requires bigger files (at least, I can't generated PNG files as light as those under JPG format). And recently I experienced a "grey picture" even with a PNG file ! Keep calm and ... LVCDC 16:29, 8 July 2014 (MDT)

It appears PNG and JPG are both still able to be used as they both continue to be successfully uploaded. Please let me and/or Bthebest know when there are issues and if you could provide more details so we can keep things up to par, I would really appreciate it. Regarding the host stopping service, are you referring to the issue we had last month? Tobin Lee 21:59, 8 July 2014 (MDT)

Hello dear Tobin, it's nice to have some news from you, especially for these maintenance matters on the site. How can we manage with these problems of uploading pictures correctly? most of the time JPG files doesn't display correctly unless downsized 500X... for movie page, and 300x... for aircraft page. I found PNG files working correctly, therefore I use this type of files exclusively, but indeed they are big files compared to JPG. So? do we keep on with PNG or should we stay with JPG?Sixcyl 01:39, 9 July 2014 (MDT)

It happens to 90% upload (if JPG) and I recently experienced this even with a PNG. What a pity to upload 500px screenshot especially when various aircraft are visible (but unidentifiable !) on it. Otherwise, we have high risks that the page displays grey squares as resizing failed if you're not displaying the high resolution :-( !
This happens since summer 2013. Corkeyandpal overturns it using only 500px. I don't want to do the same in order to keep the ability to display all details (all aircraft on a wide airport shot or registration on a dedicated aircraft). The tip of uploading then log out then log in again worked a few months but is now unsufficient. Especially on big projects with dozens of screenshots ! BTW, a multi-loader would be a great help to put an end to Wings of Russia (more 800 screenshots await to be added). Regards. LVCDC 04:36, 9 July 2014 (MDT)
