Editor Carol Hunnicut witnesses the murder of lawyer Michael Tarlow while the pair are on a date together. She then flees to Canada. Robert Caulfield of the district attorney's office along with Sgt. Dominick Benti of the police fly to extradite her so she can testify against the murderer. However, assassins are sent to follow them to silence Hunnicut.
