When an agent turns up dead in East Germany with a fake Faberge Egg, 007 is sent to investigate where the egg came from and who is behind it. His enquiries lead him to India and Kamal Kahn where he meets the elusive Octopussy. He later learns the horrifying truth behind the jewellery smuggling and must act quickly to prevent human and diplomatic catastrophe.
