Mysterious murders are committed in a mine in the town of Kitamatsu in Kyushu. At first seeming to be the work of an insane mine worker, the true culprits are eventually revealed as gigantic prehistoric insects called Meganurons. The search to find and eradicate the Meganurons uncovers a giant egg, which hatches into Radon (Rodan in the English version), a huge, pterodactyl-like dinosaur which flies at supersonic speeds and threatens all of Japan.

North American F-86 Sabre

One of these on a scouting mission encounters, and is destroyed by, a UFO later discovered to be Radon. Later, several are scrambled to fend off the beast and its mate as they attack the city of Fukuoka. Except for studio cockpit shots and some stock footage all of the jets are models.
