The atmosphere of this film is rather innocent - flying aces - real men who improve their skills. But to what? It was interesting to watch this documentary in context of the contemporary comment of the aviation expert, Wojciech Łuczak. In fact, due to Moscow's decisions and orders, pilots, who participated in visible here exercises, were to be used as one of the first in a planned future world war between "east" and "west". Their goal had to be a nuclear attack on the nearby Denmark. Of course it was not mentioned in the 1979 film.
