German Helicopter
At the last stages of the World War Two, German Armies put in limited service two types of helicopter :
- Focke-Achgelis Fa 223 which made several flights in moutainous countryside during summer 1944.
- the smaller Flettner Fl 282
The Focke-Achgelis Fa 330 doesn't suit as it was an engineless autogyro kite which could fly only by the speed of its tug (a submarine for which the Focke-Achgelis Fa 330 plays the flying crow's nest for a higher and best lookout point).
