Only seen through the castaway's eyes (who jumped into water to escape straffing), so at long distance. Hard to say if it's a Nakajima J1N or a Kawasaki Ki-45 or a Mitsubishi Ki-46 (CGI of course).

Lockheed 12A Electra c/n 1262 built in 1937, delivered to the USAAC as an C-40A on March 1939. Once the war over, back to the civilian market and worn the following registrations : NC48471 / N37P / N299A / N712FM. Entered onto the Australian Aircraft Register as VH-HID on 16th September 1987.
