This 1962 color film about Germany is one of a series of Air France “Flying Holidays” travelogues about Germany: Hamburg, Berlin, Wuppertal, Hannover, Munich.

Boeing 707-328

At Flughafen Hamburg. [See discussion tab (1)]
Registration F-BHSQ, c/n 17924/168. Delivered new to Air France in October 1960, named Château de Compiègne. Leased to Air Afrique from January 1962 to April 1963. Returned to Air France then leased again from April 1964 to October 1964, registered TU-TDC. Damaged 10/25/64 at Majunga. Landed with gear retracted. Slided on the fuselage by 1500m. Engines 2 & 3 caught fire. Repaired on site by Boeing. 80 passengers on board OK. Retired from service in December 1964. Leased to MEA-Middle East Airlines in January 1969. Returned to Air France in April 1969. Stored in February 1977. Broken up at Paris-Orly (LFPO/ORY) in October 1977.

Brand new at the time, at Flughafen Hamburg.
Registration F-BHSU, c/n 18375/293. Delivered new to Air France in April 1962, named Château de Versailles. Leased to RAM-Royal Air Maroc from March 1975 to August 1977, registered CN-RMA. Returned to Air France and stored at Paris-Charles de Gaulle (LFPG/CDG) in December 1977. Sold to Delta International Sales in July 1978, registered N707RZ. Sold to Intercontinental Airways in January 1981. Sold to Gateway Aircraft Leasing Co. Miami Springs FL in September 1983. Broken up at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International, Broward County, Florida (KFLL/FLL) in April 1985.

Sud Aviation SE 210 Caravelle III

Another brand new airplane at the time of the film, seen at Flughafen Hamburg.
Registration F-BJTG, c/n 115. First flight in April 1962, registered F-WJTG. Delivered to Air France in May 1962, named Roussillon. Transferred to Air Charter International in 1970. Sold to ITA Inter-Fret Transport Aérien in 1984, registered 9Q-CLP. Sold to FAS-Fontshi Aviation Services. Broken up at N'djili International,Kinshasa (FZAA/FIH).

Registration F-BHRH, c/n 16. First flight in December 1959 as Caravelle I. Delivered new to Air France in December 1959, named Bourgogne. Converted to Caravelle III in 1961. Preserved at Pau in June 1981. Broken up in 1983.

Continuity error. A priori at the same time given daylight and at the same place on the tarmac of Flughafen Berlin-Tegel, this now F-BHRQ.
Registration F-BHRQ, c/n 46. Delivered new to Air France in August 1960, named Limousin. Sold to Air Inter in March 1972. Sold to Kabo Air in February 1983, used for parts.
