A dying French naval frigate captain tries to make a last rendezvous in the winter storm-tossed seas off the Grand Banks... During the fall of South Vietnam, he remembers with the doctor a French war hero nicknamed "Le crabe tambour" (the drummer crab), first in the war in French Indochina, then prisoner of african tribes and then again in the "Generals' Revolt" in Algeria. (please note that aircraft are shown in order of appearence)
