Dedication

This page was first issue as Un enlèvement en hydroaéroplane but issue and filming dates didn't match as I noted on the discussion tab !
I'm very, very grateful to Thierry Matra who very kindly explained me in which movie these shots are used ... and telling the few we known about the poor fate of Un enlèvement en hydroaéroplane. Merci beaucoup Thierry ! LVCDC (talk) 06:50, 17 February 2018 (MST)

Filming and Screening Dates

If Un enlèvement en hydroaéroplane was issued BEFORE the filming of these shots, Le hasard et l'amour was released far later. Why ?
The precise reason is unknown to me but we are sure the movie was screening for the first time at the very last day of December 1915.
It's very surprising as Max Linder usually directed and edited a movie each week. Such very specific action couldn't be done and filmed again, so perhaps Max Linder was too happy to shot [in April 1913] by opportunity some action with a seaplane in Monaco harbor probably following an unexpected meeting with Henri Brégi who gave a special agreement (Who knows ?).
It then took a long time to write a screenplay able to include such action and was different of the 1912 movie.

A year later, at the outbreak of World War I, Linder attempted to enlist in the French army as volunteer but was physically unfit for combat duty. Precise dismissal reason is unclear (illness or wounded) but he was able to work again for the movie industry at the end of 1915. LVCDC (talk) 06:50, 17 February 2018 (MST)
