Documentary (2018)
Starring:
François Delpla (himself, historian)
Michèle Cointet (herself, historian)
Evelyne Reynaud (daughter of Paul Reynaud, French Prime Minister [MArch-June 1940])
Jean-Noël Jeanneney (Historian, grandson of Jules Jeanneney [Preisdent of the French Senate in 1940])
Focus on the Armistice signed between France and Germany in June 1940. First part is about the weeks before and part two is telling the chronology of the negociations with rare sound recording of this historic 22 June 1940.
Part One : Le piège d'Hitler (15 mai - 21 juin)
Bloch MB.220
Fieseler Fi 156 C1 Storch
RI+AR Fieseler Fi 156 C1 Storch, personal aircraft of Hermann Göring.
Dornier Do 17
Junkers Ju 87 B Stuka
From a German propaganda movie of Summer 1940.
Unidentified Aircraft
Besson MB.411
Only two airframes built in the mid 1930s. This spotter aircraft was designed for use from the submarine Surcouf.
Junkers Ju 52/3m
Well known footage of a Junkers Ju 52/3m landing at Oslo/ Fornebu, Norway, April 1940 (narrator is saying "General De Gaulle is coming back from London" (!) so it is the wrong footage). Same action reused from other movies at IMPDb: Frequently Seen Aircraft.
Next footage displays a Ju 52 wing.
Lockheed C-60A Lodestar
Another anachronism : this Lockheed C-60A Lodestar was used by General De Gaulle ... in North Africa in 1943 ! Note the hidden fuselage roundel, probably a Free French Cross of Lorraine.
Armstrong Whitworth A.W.38 Whitley
Third big aeronautical mistake : Germans are dropping leaflets asking to surrender ... from these British aircraft !
Part Two (not yet broadcasted)
