CNAC, acronym of Civil National Aviation Corporation (Chinese: 中國航空公司) was founded in 1930 as the result of a merge between China Airways Federal and Shanghai-Chengtu Airways. On April 1933, Pan American Airways System took 45% stake in the company. The China National Aviation Corporation was nationalized after the Chinese Communist Party took control in 1949, and merged into the People's Aviation Company of China (中國人民航空公司) in 1952. It was a major airline under the Nationalist government of China.
