The AgustaWestland AW109 is a light-weight, twin-engined, multi-purpose helicopter originally designed and manufactured by Agusta as the A109. It was first introduced in 1976 and is currently manufactured by and marketed under the Leonardo brand (former company was AgustaWestland between 2000 and 2016 hence the new name AW109).
It must not be confused with the single engine AgustaWestland AW119 which has fixed landing skids instead wheels for the AW109 (but the AW109 Trekker variant feated with landing skids too).
